Conducting a background check on a company is a crucial step for due diligence, whether for partnerships, investments, or compliance. In Kenya, the eCitizen platform provides a streamlined process to verify company details through an Official Search (CR12). This guide walks you through the steps to complete this process efficiently.
Visit the eCitizen website and log in to your account. Navigate to the Business Registration Service (BRS) section using the provided link.
Once logged in, select the ‘Make Application’ option. From the available services, choose ‘Official Search (CR12)’ for Private Limited Companies.
Click ‘Apply Now’ and input the registration name or number of the company you wish to verify. Select the correct company from the search results and proceed to the next step.
If the company’s verification status is ‘Verified,’ you will be prompted to enter your postal address, postal code, email, and phone number. Ensure all details are accurate.
Click ‘Save and Continue’ to proceed. Confirm your application by acknowledging that all provided information is accurate and complete as required by the Registrar.
Finish the process by paying the prerequisite fee of Ksh. 650. Ensure you have a valid payment method ready to complete the transaction.
