Changing your company name in Kenya is a straightforward process when you follow the correct steps. This guide provides a clear, step-by-step walkthrough of the procedure on the eCitizen platform, ensuring you complete the process efficiently and in compliance with legal requirements.
Log in to the eCitizen portal at https://brsv2.ecitizen.go.ke/. Navigate to the ‘My Businesses’ section on your dashboard and click on VIEW. Select the company whose name you wish to change.
Click on ‘Maintain a Company’ and then select ‘Change of Name’ from the available options.
Input your desired company name in order of priority. Ensure the name complies with legal naming conventions.
Pay the prescribed fee of Kshs. 4,050 through the platform and submit your application.
The system will review your proposed name. You will receive an SMS notification if corrections are needed or if additional documents are required.
If prompted, click on ‘Edit Application’ and provide details about the resolution passed. Select one or more directors to authenticate the resolution. The system will generate CR15 and CR19 forms. Download, sign, scan, and upload these forms.
Once all required documents are uploaded, submit your application for final review.
Upon approval, the certificate for the change of name will be available for download within the application.
