Traveling to Kenya involves specific arrival procedures and responsibilities for all travelers, including foreign nationals, Kenyan citizens, and residents. This guide outlines the essential steps and requirements to ensure a smooth entry process, including documentation, biometrics, and compliance with immigration regulations.

  1. Appear Before an Immigration Officer

    Upon arrival, all travelers must present themselves in person before an immigration officer. Ensure you have your passport or another valid travel document that is valid for at least six months.

  2. Submit to Biometric Data Capture

    Travelers are required to provide biometric data, including facial photographs and fingerprints, as part of the immigration process.

  3. Provide Required Documentation (Foreign Nationals)

    Foreign nationals may need to present additional documents, such as an Electronic Travel Authorization (eTA), return or onward tickets, proof of sufficient funds, hotel bookings or host details, and a travel itinerary.

  4. Report to Immigration if Arriving Outside Designated Points

    If you arrive at a location other than a designated Port of Entry (PoE), you must report to an immigration officer immediately and fulfill all arrival responsibilities to avoid legal consequences.
